What are the benefits of the Notetaker for HR?
The Notetaker gives HR confidence that performance conversations are happening, it improves the quality and consistency of HR documentation, reduces compliance risk, and increases manager ownership by making the review process easier. How do you maintain psychological safety?
Only the people named on the review (the employee, manager and any additional reviewers) can access the recording and notes. HR and others cannot see them by default, only be notified that a conversation has happened. There is clear disclosure before recording starts, visible indicators during recording, and users can pause or delete recordings at any time.
How does it work?
Start recording within Appraisd when you’re ready, have your conversation normally, and stop when finished. The Notetaker automatically transcribes the meeting and generates structured notes aligned to each review question, ready for the manager to insert and edit. The review can then be submitted as normal.
Who can see the recordings?
Only the participants on the review, namely the employee, their manager, and any additional named reviewers have access to the recording. HR and others do not automatically have access.
Where is the data stored?
Recordings, transcripts and generated notes are stored securely within Appraisd’s infrastructure which provides enterprise-grade security and encryption. The confidentiality of all data processed through the Notetaker follows the same strict rules and safeguards as all other data that we routinely store as part of reviews. Appraisd is ISO 270001 certified, so all our data policies are independently tested and audited.
When is data deleted?
Data is stored and processed at the discretion of clients and can be deleted at any time in line with each organisation’s retention policies and GDPR. Participants can delete recordings themselves at any time. Appraisd’s privacy and security policies apply to the Notetaker.
Is the data collected used for training the AI model?
No. Your recordings and transcripts remain within your secure environment. The Notetaker does not use your data to train its models.
Does it work for in-person and remote meetings?
Yes. Managers can start the Notetaker from their device in any meeting, remote or in-person, and it will capture and process the conversation. For remote meetings, Notetaker can record from your laptop or computer audio, so you can use it in conjunction with your chosen platform such as Teams, Zoom, Slack, or Google Meet. Simply start the Notetaker within Appraisd and click to share your system audio when prompted.
